We have had a really favourable response from
our suppliers.
They too, think that the site is fantastic.
Guitar Lessons in the Lower Blue Mountains and Penrith Area
This site was made to advertise guitar lessons in the Lower Blue Mountains and Penrith Areas of Sydney, Australia. The search terms that people would be most likely to search for in Google were used often in the site description and headings, text, etc.
The site was written in PHP to allow easy updates to the look of the site. A flash-based audio player was used for the music (guitar playing) clips, which remembers its state (volume, and whether it is playing or paused) from one page to another.

NSW Road Safety Auditors Register
The Road Safety Auditors Register lists qualified and competent Road Safety Auditors who are available for work in NSW, Australia. We developed the website and database for the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia (NSW Division) and the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority.
The site was made using Adobe ColdFusion and a Microsoft SQL Server database. Members of the public may use the site to look for a qualified Road Safety Auditor. Auditors are able to log in and maintain their own record online. |

www.survival.org.au
What would otherwise be a simple static site has been written using the dynamic scripting language PHP in order to make updating the look of the site easier, and to allow some dynamic features such as randomised banner photos in sets for different sections of the site.
The site demonstrates a simple, clean look, with a narrow page width and a lack of side columns containing text or advertisements, in keeping with the theme and the philosophy of the website. |

SteelNet
This site allows companies to advertise their surplus steel stocks, and registered buyers to browse the for-sale records. The site was made using Adobe Cold Fusion and a Microsoft SQL Server database.
Sellers of steel can register themselves with SteelNet, which allows them to log in and maintain their list of steel items for sale. They can review, edit and delete existing items and add new items. Steel items are grouped into 10 categories and 45 subcategories, where each subcategory has customised data fields (such as 'rectangular wall thickness'). |

The
Australian Compliance Institute
We were approached by the Australian Compliance Institute to revamp their old site and to develop a new dynamic site. The initial stage of the project consisted of a new static website and a secure members-only area.
The remaining stages of the site were the transferring of their previous localised member database to the web using PHP and MySQL, and many other online features, such as member login, registration and renewal, event booking, secure credit card payments, message boards, and a service provider register with a comprehensive set of search categories.

Triangle Sun
Linkworks is the new name of Triangle Sun, which was founded in 2001. This is the original website from the early days of the business. As with most websites from this period, it was optimised for a lower screen resolution than modern screens allow. Although our original sites scale themselves to fit into any size window, the layouts look best with a resolution under 1024 pixels wide.
The site contained a flash "splash" page as the opening page of the site, which was a popular technique in the early days of flash animation. A great deal of attention was placed on the development of original website layouts that did not closely resemble the multitude of average looking sites, but instead to stand out from the crowd as a highly original and inspiring design. |

Naomi
Burley Photography
We built this site in 2001 for Naomi Burley to show examples of her work to potential clients. A circular look was chosen for the home page to help the site stand out from the dozens of other photographers' websites.
On the web, there is always a trade-off between image quality and download speed, especially for larger sized images. We used a higher image quality than we would have used for most sites in 2001, since the entire purpose of the site is to present the photographs. The image size was chosen so that the whole image could be seen on the screen at once on an iMac with default display and browser settings. |

Wacked
Wacked was a new Australian-owned company selling and distributing clothing for extreme sports (in particular, the three categories of mountain biking, skating and snowboarding).
This site contains an online shopping cart facility, and secure credit card payment forms. The dynamic parts of the site are written in Perl and use a static text file database. This allows the site to be hosted at a lower cost, as was desired by the client, since the hosting costs do not include setting up and maintaing a database server such as Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL. | |

AD
Instruments
AD Instruments were looking for someone to create an interactive CD-ROM presentation for their international sales staff to use in sales presentations around the world. The presentation consists of a series of slides which can be navigated using a drop-down tree menu and forward/back buttons. We created the presentation using Adobe Flash, which was used for its stability and platform independence. It was necessary for the CD to work on both Windows and Macintosh computers, without any knowledge of what other software was installed on the machines. |

Loose
Furniture
For this site for Loose Furniture, the desired outcome was a clean uncluttered look, without a lot of links and other material surrounding the pages - while giving an original and contemporary look to the preview of their product catalogue.
The site shows examples of products available and gives information about the company. The animation on the home page is 20 KB in size, giving essentially no delay in waiting for the page to download before the animation begins. |

Automa
Automa are a supplier of industrial and scientific imaging systems, and security imaging devices. The aim of the site was to give potential clients an overview of the products and services provided.
Rather than acting purely as a reseller, services such as advice, customising and programming are provided for users of these complex devices. Due to this inherently personalised nature, an e-commerce site is unnecessary. |

Simon's
Photos
This site was built to display a selection of Simon's digital photographs. As for Naomi Burley Photography, the site was designed to present an individual look without taking attention from the photos themselves. This was the first website made by Linkworks, in early 2001. As with many of the earlier sites, it was optimised for a lower screen resolution than is found in more modern computer video monitors.
The main part of the site is the photo gallery itself, shown below left. If you hover the mouse over each thumbnail (without clicking), the file size of that photo is displayed, giving an indication of how long the page will take to load. |

Ceramic Art Connection
Ceramic Art Connection required a simple brochureware site to demonstrate the services they offer to their clients. The site had to be uncluttered and easy to navigate, and yet represent an original look that harmonised with and complemented their existing corporate identity package.
The desire to match closely the look of the site to the customer's existing identity and promotional material is expressed my many clients, however few web design services are able to create a unique design without incurring exessive costs that are beyone the reach of most small businesses. |

Supersix Events
We were approached to build a site to help promote this high-profile annual event for the architectural and interior design industry. Proceeds from tickets and a charity auction and raffle are donated to The Children's Hospital at Westmead. The aim of the site is to serve as a catalog for the auction and raffle items, and to aid in promotion of the event.
The title page animation was made with a series of photos from last year's event. The design-oriented audience have a higher than usual proportion of viewers with fast Internet connections, allowing a longer file size for the animation.
